Dapper Days April '23 - dressing up, shopping, a Disneyland visit, & a bunch of music and dancing!

April 15-16, 2023: We're back at the Disneyland Resort for the Spring 2023 Dapper Days Expo. Somehow we find ourselves at Dapper Days regularly - if nothing else we really like the shopping, dancing, and music at the Expo. And honestly we're at Disneyland quite a bit wearing collars and dresses, so that's not too tall an order. Here's some scenes from the 2023 spring event. Enjoy!

A weekend in April, 2023: LA Kings and Disney and LA Galaxy and more Disney. Oh my!

It wasn't a 3-day weekend, but we treated it like a long weekend anyway. A Stanley Cup Playoffs LA Kings game on Friday night, Disneyland on Saturday morning and afternoon, and then the LA Galaxy game that night. Rest on Sunday? Nope, we're up for more at Disney California Adventure. We fit in a handful of rides, visited Oga's Cantina and Trader Sam's, found an awesome photo op at the Disneyland Hotel and even grabbed a few more items from the Food & Wine Festival before it concluded. Enjoy!

Viva Las Vegas 26: Music, Bowling, Cars, and more!

It's our inaugural trip to the annual Viva Las Vegas rockabilly festival held at the Orleans Hotel in Las Vegas. We weren't staying on site, but we crammed in as much as we could: shopping, live music, a bowling tournament, more music, a visit to Frankie's Tiki Room, the car show, and more music. I'm all tired again just thinking about it. Enjoy!

A brief morning at Disneyland and lunch at Puesto! Indy, Mickey & Minnie, and tacos!

The backend of our Memorial Day overnight trip to Knott's and Disney. This was what we considered "bonus time" and we prioritized the few rides we really wanted to experience. Hyperspace Mountain before it was taken down, the newly-refurbished Indy, and my new favorite: Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway. After that we didn't want to deal with the crowds anymore, so we went back for a delicious lunch at Puesto at the Anaheim Westin before checking out and heading home. Causal and quick. Enjoy!

Magic Mountain Mondays #42: Freefall

R.I.P.

In August of 1995, I took a bunch of photos (on film no less) at Six Flags Magic Mountain using an inexpensive camera. I was working as an Operations supervisor at the time, and the purpose of the project was to create a slide show for an employee appreciation party for our Operations staff. I’ve carted these slides around for over 25 years and I finally had them digitally transferred this year. About 2/3s of them aren’t available for posting because they are crew pictures and I have no way to request permission to post them. But I do have 50+ available that are just various shots of the park. Enjoy this time capsule from August 1995.
