Footage: GoPro Hero 9, 4k. Arctic Rescue is the new-for-2023 Intamin Family Launch Coaster. It opened 6/2/23 and we took a ride on 9/3/23. While it was eventually a full ride complete ride, the coaster did set up at the start of the 3rd launch. We sat for about 9 minutes while the ride mechanics responded and got us past the 3rd launch. Disappointingly, once we got back to the station we were unloaded as though nothing happened - no acknowledgement from the staff, no apologies for the inconvenience, and no offer to come back and ride again later when the ride re-opened. In my day, that's not how it was done.
Kevin & Val Go (Back) To...SeaWorld San Diego May 22, 2022. Coaster redux and aquariums!
Completing our short San Diego weekend, we're back for more SeaWorld San Diego. After our mandatory early morning coaster rides, we turn our attention (mostly) to the indoor aquariums. Witness: sharks, turtles, penguins, hide-and-seek beluga, walrus, otters, sea lions, seals...whew! I also took some guidance on setting up specific low-light settings for my GoPro 9 and overall I was pleased with the results considering this was a first try. Kevin & Val Go To...SeaWorld San Diego May 21, 2022. Coaster POVs, animal habitats, and relaxing!
Hot on the heels of our visit to SeaWorld Orlando (fine, we took a week off), we visit SeaWorld San Diego, which is closer to our backyard. Their new B&M dive coaster, Emperor, is now open and we have POV footage to prove it. Want more? Cool, we have POV footage of Electric Eel and Manta also! Then we shift focus to animal habitats, mostly sea otters and dolphins. Stay tuned for day 2 where we'll visit inside aquariums and more. Enjoy!
